Qablë-êdê Fêqê (/ˈʤeqo/ /ˈɘdɘ/ [private] [girl]) is a subtropical Large Town located in Stonecastle Dutchy, Pifîkèli Provence, within the Dalandic Empire.

The name Qablë-êdê Fêqê is derived from the Iron Elvish language, as Qablë-êdê Fêqê was founded by Gîbêb Shega, who was culturaly Iron Elven.

Climate

Qablë-êdê Fêqê has a yearly average temperature of 25°C (77°F), with its average temperature during the summer being a warm 29°C (84°F) and its average temperature during the winter being a pleasant 21°C (69°F). Qablë-êdê Fêqê receives an average of 167 cm/y (65 in/y) of precipitation, most of which comes in the form of rain during the fall. Qablë-êdê Fêqê covers an area of nearly 6 km2 (2 mi2), and an average elevation of 3046 m (9993 ft) above sea level.

Overview

Qablë-êdê Fêqê was founded durring the early 16th century in spring of the year 1527, by Gîbêb Shega. The establishment of the new community went well, though many minor issues had to be solved as time went on. This was enough to delay construction and push back the formal opening ceramony, leading to some embarisment for Gîbêb Shega.

Qablë-êdê Fêqê was built using the conventions of Iron Elven durring the early 16th century. Naturaly, all settlmentss have their own look to them, and Qablë-êdê Fêqê is no diffrent. The town's buildings feature masoned stone construction which prominantly features pointed arches, pointed ribbed vault cielings, flying buttress', and window tracery all of which share a simmilar gemoetetic patern halfway between organic and inorganic in design formaing a very distinct aesthetically integrated style. BUildings tend to reach for the havens, and more expencive homes are easily identified by their floor count as well as the addition of decorative features intigrated into the building's design such as statues, gargoyals, and embelished joinery.

Qablë-êdê Fêqê is was constructed arround several broad canals mainstreets which cross one another at certain axies, with smaller streets branching off of them to premit acess to the many buildings deeper into the road network. The overall fashion is remenessent of a circulatory system, or other organic construct, and is quite effishent in its design. The town has a defencive wall made from large clay bricks. The wall is constructed to the exact specifications of millitary fortifications, but the nature of its clay brick construction leaves it vulnerable to even outdated siege equipment. That said, the town is well defended against anything short of an army. Qablë-êdê Fêqê's brittle defences are in an unremarkable state. To some, this is the ideal sate for defences to be in. In need of absoutly nothing, and ready to serve the town as needed.

Qablë-êdê Fêqê has the unmistakable air of a town on its last legs. Everything is a bit slipshod and ramshackle. Everyone is at work, or drinking. No one has anything in their eyes other than fear and despair. Whatever industry once fueled Qablë-êdê Fêqê ’s existence has dried up and the town is drifting down the stream of history as it dries up. Likely due to this, Qablë-êdê Fêqê is, in a word, disorder. People seem to be allowed to do as they please with little harmoney to anything. It feels less like a town, and more like a spot people just happened to have homes. One cannot help but wonder what Qablë-êdê Fêqê was like during the glorydays.

Civic Infrastructure

Qablë-êdê Fêqê has an animal control department which works to enforce local ordinances relating to the control, impoundment, and disposition of animals.

Qablë-êdê Fêqê has an Office of Civil Groundskeeping, which works to enforce local ordinances relating to the construction and upkeep up of all plant life, water features, and other natural decorations within Qablë-êdê Fêqê. They are also responsible for the maintenance of these features. Notably, the OCG is not responsible for Qablë-êdê Fêqê's parks.

Qablë-êdê Fêqê has a Parks and Recreation Department, which is responsible for the construction, management, and usage rights for all of its parks and parklands. They are not to be confused with the Office of Civil Groundskeeping as they do not hold authority over nor responsibility for Qablë-êdê Fêqê's natural decorations nor waterways.

Qablë-êdê Fêqê has a Guild of Roadworkers, who are responsible for maintaining the roadways and public paths within town. They also have the duty of enforcing all civil laws relating to the roadways.

Cultural Notes

Qablë-êdê Fêqê's mayor's house was built using a different architectural style from the rest of the town. The style used is known for its buildings being predominantly formed through the combination of basic geometric shapes. However, it shown in the detailing given to the structures such as its characteristic tall columns, intricate detail, symmetry, harmony, and balance in their designs to an astonishing degree of precision. Decorative elements for the buildings tended to be built into the structure itself, making great use of fluting, frescoes, inlays, and embossing.

Due to the actions of local Kami, winter is long in Qablë-êdê Fêqê.

The Howler near Qablë-êdê Fêqê are known to be almost tame, such that they can be put to domestic use.

Qablë-êdê Fêqê's citizens partake in a curious ritual relating to their local kami. It takes place in spring and involves destroying a prepared ritual vessel to channel Chronomancy energies of tier 3 via divine sermons.

In time immemorial, reportedly some time during the early 2nd century the Kami solved a major long term problem plaguing the town. One of Qablë-êdê Fêqê's local festivals commemorates this miracle.
